L'INSTANT MOBILE
1966

[Bernard Parmegiani]

◇ The feeling of a continuous duration that “memory only can unify” contrasts with “non-durational moments” projected in different parts of the room. The subtle variations of superimposed continua between the speakers create a kind of sound shifting effect. Using a new device, the envelope shaper, it was possible to “extract” constantly moving moments. [Bernard Parmegiani]

• Premiered at Studio 105 de la Maison de la Radio in Paris, on 25 May 1966
• First version 1966 composed on 4 tracks
• Stereo version dated 1971
