DU POP À L'ÂNE
1969

◇ The composer called this piece “collage”, or in other words, the singular association of very different and unexpected styles of music. Thus, we can have a taste of “pop” music superimposed on symphony music as well as many other forms of assemblage. The title itself is a play on words from the French phrase: “Passer du coq à l’âne” (‘To chop and change’ or ‘to jump subjects’). [Régis Renouard-Larivière]
