about

CAPTURE ÉPHÉMÈRE
1967

Initially, this was a recording of the beating wings of a bird flying past in the blue sky in the desert of the Dead Sea. The beating of its wings stayed with me for a long time after the bird had disappeared... Elsewhere, hesitant breezes born out of a stream but not from the air, micro-sounds escaped from some strange effervescent entity, cascades of unstable minerals, frozen in time... All these experiences that have left their permanent mark “within”. [Bernard Parmegiani]

• Premiered Studio 105 de la Maison de la Radio in Paris on May 30th 1967
• First version 1967 composed on four tracks
• Stereo version dated 1988
